Education and Research had released Admit cards on 15th April 2016
on official website for National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) which is going
to be conducted on 28th May 2016 at 53 various centres in all over
the country for admission to the 5-year Integrated MSc program in basic
sciences - Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics - at National Institute
of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai
- Department of Atomic Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE
CBS), Mumbai.

“The NEST 2016 will be conducted at 56
major towns and cities all over India on May 28, 2016 (Saturday), 10:00 am –
1:00 pm. Based on the performance in NEST 2016, a common Merit List of the
candidates will be prepared and posted on NEST 2016 website on June 17, 2016.
The successful candidates will be asked to participate in an
admission/counselling process and the admission will strictly be according to
the Merit List until all the seats are filled.”
The
National Entrance Screening Test or NEST is a compulsory test for admission to
the 5- year Integrated MSc program in basic sciences - Biology, Chemistry,
Mathematics and Physics - at National Institute of Science Education and
Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic
Energy Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CBS), Mumbai. Both NISER
and CBS are autonomous institutions established by Department of Atomic Energy
(DAE), Government of India, in 2007.
NEST
2016 was held on 28th May 2017 by Pen paper mode. Language of the question paper was English only. The
question paper was consisted of five sections containing objective and MCQ type
questions of 60 marks (each section). The exam was a multiple choice question
paper and four options were provided
out of which candidates were required to choose one correct answer.
Section
I was the general section and was mandatory to score for all candidates. There was no negative marking in general
section.
Sections
2 contained subject specific questions asked from Biology, Chemistry,
Mathematics and Physics.

Counseling Admission: Latest News is that NEST 2016 Result Merit list
Rank Card had declared on 19th June 2016 at 12:00 noon for admission to admission
to the various 5-year Integrated Post Graduate Programs in various Government
and Aided Universities and colleges in the country.
The NEST 2016 merit list will be
prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates. The Seat Available
at the two institutes for admission in year 2016-17 will be as follows:
